Cesspool
Cesspool installations where very popular at one time but all the system did was allow sewage to filter on a small surface, without treatment. This system is becoming less and less compliant with to the new MDDEP rules.
The installation conditions of a cesspool must be ideal : a permeable soil without water, rocks or impermeable layers within 3 meters of the surface. In the Laurentides and Lanaudières regions, these conditions are more and more scarce. This system is the least expensive of all the systems but has a short life span.
