Leaching bed
This systems has been very popular in recent years It uses a network of perforated plastic distribution pipes and acts as a large surface sponge (6 by 10 meters or even 8 by 10 meters).
The size of the field is based on the number of bedrooms. However, trees must be at least 2 meters from the field.
We spread about 6 inches of ¾ crushed stones (washed) under the pipes and 2 to 3 inches over the pipes (about 12 inches of stones will be required). This assures good water infiltration.
All leaching bed installers should offer a 5 year guarantee on their system.
